Sharlene V. Embree, 65, Dallas

      Sharlene Vern (Choate) Embree, 65, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Dallas.

      She was born March 26, 1943, in Orofino, to Crystal and Ed Choate of Teakean, Idaho. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church of Pinehurst, Idaho. She was a USWA member and worked at the Bunker Hill Mine. She attended Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston until being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 1985. She then devoted much of her time to her grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Crystal and Tob Baysinger, and Ed Choate; brother Gorem Baysinger; sister Janice Bauer; and grandson, Matthew Edwards.

      She had five sisters, Janice Bauer, Diane Ohatto, Lily Choate, Roseanne Choate and Edna Choate; three brothers, Larry, Stanley and James Choate; three stepbrothers, Gorem, Norris, Vernon Baysinger; and a stepsister, Venita Martin.

      She had five children, Mark Erickson of Seattle; Lisa Erickson of Spokane; Shelly Jardin of Red Oak, Texas; Trina Edwards of Lewisville, Texas; and Krista Savacool of Waxahachie, Texas; son-in-law, Steve Edwards; and daughter-in-law, Tandy Powell.

      She had 14 grandchildren, Hank Erickson; Jenna and Josie Erickson; RJ and Toben Row; Fabian and Ciara Jardin; Cassie, Matthew, Carolynn and Tiffany Edwards; Sean and Shelby Savacool; and Autumn Wick.

      Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ovilla United Methodist Church, 1403 Red Oak Creek Drive, Red Oak. Services will be followed by a covered-dish luncheon at the church. The Rev. Marvin Mott will conduct the service.

      Her ashes will be interred at Teakean Cemetery March 29, 2009.
